Programme profile


This programme is run at University College Roosevelt [UCR]. As a UCR student, you can study on the Zeeland coast and still be part of Utrecht University.

Roosevelt Academy is made up of four departments: Academic Core, Arts & Humanities, Science, and Social Science.During your first year, you complete three compulsory courses offered by the Academic Core department. You must also choose another five courses from at least two other departments. At the end of the first year, students must choose a major (Humanities, Science or Social Science).

Depending on whether you are pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme or Bachelor of Science (BSc) programme, your major will consist of a combination of 10 BA or 12 BSc courses offered by one of the three departments, in addition to the relevant Academic Core courses. In addition, you can opt for a wide variety of courses in other disciplines. Since all majors are multidisciplinary in nature, students can select courses that fit their individual needs or interests.

Fee includes standard statutory Tuition Fee of Eur 2143 plus an Institutional Fee

Programme content


Year 1:
You take modules from Humanities, Science, and Social Science In addition, all first years take Academic Skills and Practice. You also start learning a second language, from French, German, Spanish and Dutch

Years 2 and 3:
You can major in the following disciplines:

Major in Humanities in: Art History; History, Language & Culture, Linguistics, Literature & Classics, Performing Arts, Philosophy, Religious Studies

Major in Social Sciences in: Anthropology, Economics, Geography,Law,Political Science, Psychology,Sociology

Major in Science in: Biology; Chemistry; Earth & Environment; Mathematics; Medical Science; Physics

UCR has an alternative start date every February [Application Deadline: 15 Nov]

Progression


Graduates of the programme have enrolled a wide of master's programmes. Some have stayed on at Utrecht University, while others have moved on to other Dutch universities or other universities abroad
